Selection Of Hob For CNC Gear Hobbing Machine

Selection of hob for NC gear hobbing machine:

1. The accuracy grade of gear hob shall be selected according to the accuracy grade or process requirements of the processed gear.

2. Selection of gear hob head number. In order to improve the machining accuracy, single head hob should be selected during finishing machining of NC gear hobbing machine. In order to improve the machining efficiency, multi head hob should be selected during rough machining.

3. Selection of helical direction of gear hob. When hobbing spur gears, right-handed hobs are generally used. When the CNC hobbing machine Hobbes helical cylindrical gears, the spiral direction of the hob should be the same as that of the work. Stone rotary hob shall be used for right-hand helical gear, and left-hand hob shall be used for left-hand helical gear.

4. Select according to the process requirements. For example, for CNC gear hobbing machine, twist grinding hob shall be selected for gear grinding after gear hobbing, and shaving hob shall be selected for gear shaving after gear hobbing.
